A former WWE star and her partner made headlines after walking out of AEW Collision this weekend. Now, a new report has surfaced that sheds light on the reason why they did so.

That star is Nixon Newell (fka Tegan Nox), a former WWE wrestler who was released from the company in November 2024. Newell quickly returned to the independent circuit and spent about a year there before making a surprising debut on the October 25 episode of Collision alongside her partner Miranda Alize. The duo confronted Anna Jay and Tay Melo (collectively known as TayJay) in a backstage segment. A week later, they made their in-ring debut in a losing effort against Marina Shafir and Megan Bayne.

On this week's Collision, they were scheduled to face TayJay. However, earlier reports confirmed that Newell and Alize walked out of Collision an hour before their match. At the time, it was reported that their walkout was allegedly due to being asked to put TayJay over, but they refused. According to the latest update from Fightful, this was not the case.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that the duo specifically wanted more time rather than winning their match against Anna Jay and Tay Melo. The report also suggested that there will be more updates on Newell's and Alize's brief run in AEW.

Nixon Newell recently spoke on her dream matches in AEW

A few months ahead of her debut in AEW, Nixon Newell had made an appearance on We Just Talk Wrestling, where she was asked about her dream opponents in the Jacksonville-based promotion.

"There's so many. Kris Statlander, that could be a banger. Mercedes Mone, I'd like to run that back with her again. Athena. Dude, there's so many people I want to wrestle. Willow Nightingale. So many people. So many people I want to wrestle. So Toni Storm's up there, just because I wrestled Toni for a very, very long time... Alex Windsor, obviously, big history with her," Newell said.

Now, with the walkout incident, it'll be interesting to see if fans will ever see Newell or Alize on AEW programming again.
