John Cena's farewell tour featured numerous iconic last-time matches, except one with his storied rival, Adam Copeland, due to his current association with AEW. Moreover, a significant update regarding a potential final showdown between them might leave the fans disappointed.

The Never Seen 17 is nearing the end of his wrestling career and is set to wrestle his final match on WWE Saturday Night's Main Event, taking place at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., on December 13. He will face the winner of 'The Last Time is Now' tournament that will feature 16 competitors from RAW, SmackDown, and NXT, who will look to earn the honor of battling Cena in his last in-ring appearance.

At the same time, there has been constant support from fans for Adam Copeland to wrestle John Cena one last time on his farewell tour, especially in his last match, calling it the ideal end for Cena's career. Furthermore, there was some hope when Cena announced the aforementioned tournament in a vignette, saying competitors could include those who did not even work for WWE.

Despite all that, a recent update from Fightful Select stated that there has been no discussion of a final Cena vs. Cope match. Moreover, they also added that AEW President and CEO Tony Khan will not allow it, nor should he, considering WWE has reportedly been trying to derail their momentum with head-to-head events and undermine them on recent occasions.

WWE RAW star unhappy with John Cena's recent title win

John Cena surprisingly triumphed over Dominik Mysterio in an impromptu match in his last appearance in his hometown of Boston, Massachusetts, to capture the WWE Intercontinental Championship on the November 10 edition of RAW. However, this did not sit well with current RAW star Xavier Woods, who was unhappy with Cena getting a title shot.

"Why does he get a shot? We can't get a shot at tag titles, and he gets a shot at IC whenever he wants? Cause 'he's leaving, and the last time is now.' And the Pyro? Who is he, Penta? All the Pyro now?"

Regardless of that, The Champ is here, and he became a Grand Slam Champion just a month before wrestling his final match at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event.
