A highly popular and beloved AEW star’s wrestling career might end sooner than expected. This came following a major update regarding his current status and in-ring future.
The aforementioned star, who is a former WWE NXT Champion, is Adam Cole. The Panama Playboy became a top name in All Elite Wrestling after starting his tenure in 2021, despite major setbacks and injuries. His last appearance was at AEW All In Texas, where he was initially supposed to defend his TNT Championship against Kyle Fletcher in a singles showdown.
However, Cole came out and relinquished the championship in front of the live audience. He was later reported to be dealing with a concussion, and now, there have been significant concerns regarding his return to the squared circle.
In the recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez stated that there is a feeling within the Jacksonville-based promotion that Adam Cole might not be able to wrestle again. He also added that Cole was dealing with many things and wished him well on his road to recovery.

AEW President Tony Khan's take on Adam Cole's in-ring future
In a recent appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, All Elite Wrestling President and CEO Tony Khan spoke about Adam Cole's in-ring return. He admitted that while the chances are low, Khan would always have a role for him in his company.
“I think it would have to be the right situation for Adam to wrestle again. I think it’s at least possible that we would keep Adam as part of the family, but I want to get to where he feels good about travelling and doing things every week again. I’ve been open with him that when he’s ready, there’s always a role in AEW for him. He had been a commentator at times, he's been one of the hosts of the shows, he's great for that."
With his uncertain status at the moment, it remains to be seen what the future holds for Adam Cole.
