Two former AEW World Champions might be back in the promotion soon. While Tony Khan has been booking strong feuds, the company is still missing stars like MJF, Will Ospreay, and Swerve Strickland. All these stars held the company during the dark times. The Aerial Assassin will be back next year, as he recently suffered a neck injury.
Meanwhile, Swerve Strickland has been recovering from a meniscus injury and has been absent since Forbidden Door. MJF has been busy with filming projects and has been on a hiatus since September. A recent report claimed that they both might return soon.
According to Self Made, the former AEW World Champions are expected to return to the company by December.
"We’re going to get two major returns. By—let’s see here—by the end of the month, AEW is going to have two major stars back. We’re talking about Swerve and MJF here. They have the creative setup for those two guys for December. I expect them to be back by the time we’re in December. And again, we’ll see how they stagger those returns—that’s up to Tony, and that’s probably something he’s kept close to the vest in terms of who he’s bringing back and at what point. Swerve is good to go, by the way," the report said. [H/T - Ringside News]

Veteran questions MJF's absence from AEW
Maxwell lost to Mark Briscoe at All Out. He was devastated by the defeat and claimed he would take some time off to recollect himself.
While speaking on The Experience, Jim Cornette asked where MJF was, as he was last seen in a backstage interview following his last defeat.
"Well, speaking of following up and going home, and where the f**k is this going? MJF was in the back of the building in a pre-tape after the pay-per-view, where he usually does his great interviews. Just to get him on television, they just put his face on there; that's all they care about," he said.
It will be interesting to see when the two former AEW World Champions return to the promotion.
