One of AEW's top stars and former champions is set to make his long-anticipated return to programming, according to reports. The update suggests that the talent in question, Maxwell Jacob Friedman, could show up at or ahead of Worlds End, the company's upcoming pay-per-view.

MJF was last seen in action at All Out: Toronto, where he went to war with Mark Briscoe in a culmination of their escalating feud, as they battled it out in a Tables N' Thumbtacks match. In an intense post-match promo, The Wolf of Wrestling stated he would be going away for a while, but not without promising to return as his best and most dangerous self.

While on hiatus, Friedman finished filming the upcoming Tommy Wirkola-directed action-comedy Violent Night 2, and news had broken some time earlier that the former AEW World and International Champion was nearing his All Elite Wrestling return. Now, the latest report from Wrestlevotes LIVE! on Fightful Select claimed that MJF had been factored into creative plans for the Tony Khan-led promotion's upcoming PPV, Worlds End 2025, as of this year's Thanksgiving week.

Interestingly, recent All Elite Wrestling programming may already have signaled the self-proclaimed generational talent's return.

AEW's latest hint regarding MJF's return

Maxwell Jacob Friedman's comeback was hinted at earlier when it was announced that the Dynamite Diamond Ring - a signature part of MJF's paraphernalia - would be up for grabs again in a Battle Royale on December 17 in Manchester, England. The two finalists will then face off on December 20 in New York to decide who ultimately gets the ring, as well as an AEW World Title shot scheduled for Dynamite: Maximum Carnage in January 2026.

MJF has been the sole possessor of the Dynamite Diamond Ring since the introduction of the item in All Elite Wrestling, and considering his history with the reigning Men's World Champion, Samoa Joe, it is likely that Friedman will be gunning to retain his ring as well as for a chance to reclaim his "Triple B".
