Nixon Newell recently became the epicenter of controversy in the professional wrestling industry. The former AEW star walked out of AEW Collision with her partner, Miranda Alize. Now, following the controversy, a WWE veteran bashed the two ladies for their alleged unprofessional behavior in All Elite Wrestling.
Former WWE manager Dutch Mantell reacted to the controversy involving Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize in AEW. On last week's episode of AEW Collision, the duo was scheduled to face TayJay in a tag team match. However, they demanded extra TV time for their match from Tony Khan. The management refused, leading them to exit without even competing in the show.
Speaking on The Story Time with Dutch Mantell, the 75-year-old veteran heavily criticized Newell and Alize's behaviour. He supported Tony Khan, saying that a lot of money is invested in any show and that such last-minute changes might lead to the event's failure. As per Mantell, the duo did not understand the business's details. Therefore, the former WWE star said it was the right decision by AEW to ask the stars to leave.
“They don’t know how much money it took to put that show on, how much money Tony Khan spends on that show, but they’re going to go out there, and all they’re thinking about is themselves. They could always say, ‘We didn’t mind losing, but we just didn’t want to lose in three minutes.’ So, I said, ‘Okay, you got three minutes and fifteen seconds.’ I would lengthen it just a little bit. But that’s what you’re going to run into, it’s been around forever," he said.
