WWE has suddenly made a massive, yet subtle, reference to AEW during tonight's episode of NXT. This was one that not everyone may have noticed, but was related to the past of one of the stars on the roster.

Earlier tonight, the brand aired a vignette of Tatum Paxley addressing her loss to Izzi Dame at NXT Deadline last weekend. It was a well-matched contest between the two women, but Dame was able to come away with the win after the rest of The Culling got involved in their match.

Paxley spoke about her former stable, and she hinted at taking them down one by one. She then brought out action figures of her former allies, specifically the figures of both Shawn Spears and Niko Vance. Many noticed that for this segment, WWE used the AEW action figure of Spears.

This could be because WWE has not yet released an action figure for Shawn Spears' current persona, and the AEW action figure is the closest to it.

Shawn Spears delivered a bold claim after turning on Tatum Paxley at WWE NXT Gold Rush

Almost a month ago, The Culling executed their betrayal on Tatum Paxley, costing her the NXT Women's Title. This allowed Jacy Jayne to recapture her title.

Shawn Spears and the rest of the group were unfazed despite turning on Paxley. They made a bold claim, as he posted on X/Twitter about them feeling better after kicking her out of the group.

"We feel so much lighter," Spears tweeted.

This feud is far from over, with Tatum Paxley now looking determined to exact revenge on her former stable. She no longer wants to play by their games, and she could now be the one to set the tone in this feud. It remains to be seen how she'll execute her plan and who she could enlist to help get the job done.
