The Bulgarian Brute started strongly in All Elite Wrestling and even held the TNT Championship. However, he was kept on the sidelines for extended period before he was granted his release this year, leading to his return to WWE in April. At the same time, it was reported that Rusev refused to put over talent in AEW that led to him being kept off television.

When asked about the same, Rusev chose to sidestep the question and instead vented out his frustrations about not being utilised in AEW. This drew the ire of fans on social media, with a major part believing that he was lying, and he indeed refused to lose to other wrestlers in the company. One fan even called out the entire wrestling fraternity of athletes for lying all the time at the expense of the former WWE United States Champion.

Rusev admitted going on dates during brief separation from his wife

Rusev and his wife, and former WWE superstar, CJ Perry, had separated for a while in 2024 before reuniting and renewing their vows this year. In a recent conversation with Perry on her new podcast, he admitted going on two or three dates during the separation phase with people just to have a conversation.

"Two or three (dates) maybe. It's not even people who I was interested in. I went with a classmate or a friend from back in the day, which I wouldn't have done if CJ was there. But they happen to be girls, they happen to be friends. They're not like my girlfriends. I didn't want to go and have s*x with them, I just wanted to have a conversation, that's all it was." The dominant star got his personal and professional life back on track this year and has been going strong on WWE RAW lately. So it remains to be seen what is next for the Bulgarian wrestler.
