Wrestling veteran Dutch Mantell went on to criticize Jericho's controversial comments. During the latest episode of his Talk is Jericho podcast, The Learning Tree claimed that the crowd at TNA Bound for Glory was like a WWE-level crowd. He made a bold comparison to AEW's ECW Arena show, saying that TNA looked like the second-biggest company in the world with their recent show, a subtle yet bold dig at All Elite Wrestling.

Speaking on Story Time with Dutch Mantell, the former WWE manager claimed that Jericho is trying to play with Tony Khan. He added that the Stamford-based promotions do not care about Y2J's presence at all. Therefore, the former AEW World Champion is only making such a comment to create buzz in the world of pro-wrestling and position himself as a WWE well-wisher.

"Well, I think he's playing both sides against the middle, and there's only one guy he's really playing — Tony Khan, right? Because WWE don’t give a cr*p. They can sign him or not sign him; it’s not going to affect them. And if Tony does re-sign him, it’s not going to affect them either, because he’s been paying him and he hasn’t been producing anything — no ratings, no tickets sold, nothing," he said.

Tony Khan talks about Chris Jericho's status with AEW

Chris Jericho has been absent from All Elite Wrestling since losing his ROH World Championship in April this year. According to rumors, his contract is expected to expire in December, creating the possibility that he could leave AEW. Recently, Tony Khan talked about Y2J's status with the company.

Speaking on the Ariel Helwani Show, Khan said that while he cannot share much about Jericho, he hopes to see him in AEW down the line. However, the AEW President made it clear that the decision to renew Chris Jericho's contract with AEW is entirely in Chris Jericho's hands.

"I can't speak to that, but I love Chris in AEW, and the door is always open for him to come in...It's a good question, and some of it just comes down to working out the dates. I would rather not get into it, but I respect you asking about it. If I can give as much information as possible to try to keep a very constructive dialogue. I hope we get Chris back in," said Khan.

Overall, Tony Khan did not provide a clear answer on Y2J's status within the company. It means only time will tell what the future holds for Chris Jericho in professional wrestling from here on.
