The star was a former World Champion in WWE.Bryan was forced to retire from in-ring action in 2016. However, the star forced through and made his return to the ring in 2018 and continued to wrestle for the WWE through 2021. After that, he moved to AEW and even won the World Championship during his run.During a recent appearance on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, Bryan mentioned that when he visited the doctor, he hoped to keep his condition a secret from the WWE. In fact, he recalled trying to work out an arrangement with the doctor. However, when the promotion got wind of this, they were annoyed with the star."What had happened is, I told the doctor, I went to a neurologist in Phoenix, Arizona, thinking in my head, this is how naive I am, think okay, I can tell the doctor, and he won't put it in the report that WWE gets. I said, you know, hoping that he and I could work it out together. Then WWE was like, you what? It wasn't just the seizures, it was the fact that I had been lying to them for years."Bryan added that he was trying to prove he was fit to return by trying different medical procedures. It was during one of these tests that the doctors discovered a lesion in his brain. The star recalled that it was a devastating experience."I was doing all these experimental things. They hooked up all these EEGs or whatever it is to my head. In this thing, they said they saw a brain lesion. Then it was like, oh boy. But I told them, from this point forward, I will be completely honest with you. So, I told them the results of that." He continued, "So that was the story behind that. That was devastating for me."Bryan Danielson last wrestled a TV match in October 2024It has been over a year since Bryan Danielson wrestled his last televised match in AEW.His last encounter was against Jon Moxley at AEW Wrestledream in October 2024.
