A renowned WWE veteran confirmed his departure from rival promotion, AEW, recently. This led to the wrestling fans erupting on social media with mixed reactions, most directed at Triple H to bring him back for an important night.

The aforementioned veteran in question is Tony Chimel, who had a tenured run in WWE as a ring announcer. He primarily worked on SmackDown and was remembered for his unique announcing style, especially for current AEW star, Adam Copeland. He joined All Elite Wrestling in 2023 as a producer after being let go by the Stamford-based promotion three years prior.

The Texas native recently confirmed that he had parted ways with Tony Khan's company. His revelation led to fans reacting with interesting opinions. A highly prevalent one was fans wanting Paul "Triple H" Levesque to bring Tony Chimel back for John Cena's final match at Saturday Night's Main Event on December 13.

WWE veteran Tony Chimel spoke about his run in AEW

Tony Chimel revealed that AEW ran things differently from World Wrestling Entertainment when he revealed his departure. At the same time, he expressed gratitude to the Jacksonville-based promotion for his time with them.

"I always had a good time there. I mean they’re a little smaller operation and you know, run things a little differently. But the people there are nice. I mean they work you know, I knew a lot of WWE people there that are there now and stuff like that.
