Samoa Joe has just fallen victim to an incredible swerve to close out tonight's episode of AEW Dynamite. He has been played by one of the oldest tricks in the book.Just moments ago, a four-way match took place to close out Fright Night Dynamite. This was a match to determine 'Hangman' Adam Page's challenger at AEW Full Gear. The contest featured Joe, Bobby Lashley, Ricochet, and HOOK. In the end, it was the Samoan Submission Machine who scored the win after forcing his former mentee to tap out to the Coquina Clutch.Post-match, The Opps came out to celebrate Joe's win, and they already held the contract signing for his match with Hangman Page. It was Tony Schiavone who facilitated this moment. He had some men in costume bring the contract to Samoa Joe.Joe was skeptical of them and had Powerhouse Hobbs and Shibata take them out before he signed the contract. After he did this, the group was now finally able to celebrate, and Schiavone even offered a toast to them.No one noticed that The Opps had been played, and Hangman, who was in costume as Schiavone, switched places with the veteran and was already in the ring behind them. This is the second time that someone has fallen victim to Hangman Page's antics on Halloween, with The Elite being the first. Samoa Joe may have seen something like this coming, but Page outsmarted him nonetheless.
