AEW President Tony Khan recently hinted at hiring a former WWE star. 40-year-old star Killer Kross', fka Karrior Kross, contract expired in August earlier this year. He was over with the fans, but things didn't work out between the two parties in the end.While Karrion was offered a contract, WWE refused to re-sign his wife, Scarlett Bordeaux. This didn't sit well with him, and therefore, he left the global sports entertainment juggernaut. In the weeks leading to his free agency, the Tollman was rumored to join AEW immediately after leaving WWE.Unfortunately, he has yet to debut on AEW TV. When Tony Khan was asked about hiring him on the Ariel Helwani Show, he said that he likes the 40-year-old star and would like to discuss the future."I like Killer Kross. It would be interesting at some time point to talk to him again. It's been a long time since I've spoken with him, and it would definitely be interesting."Tony also said that they could have met at Comic Con a few weeks ago, but missed the opportunity. However, he didn't rule out signing him down the line."I didn't get to see him that night. That probably would have been a great chance to connect with him (...) It's interesting. I mean, you never know what's going on with different wrestlers in different wrestling organizations. I can't speak to that. I think he is very talented, and Darby said he had a great experience with him and it will definitely be worth reconnecting (...) Sometimes I get so laser-focused on one thing, as you can see, that I think about those things. But at some point, he's definitely a great name to think about," he added. He was the best seller in the merchandising section, and fans showed immense support for him.During an appearance on Writing with Russo, veteran Vince Russo said Tony Khan should sign Kross, as he could be a draw for AEW."I swear to god, if I was Tony Khan, man, freaking hire Kross and make him the man. Revolve everything around him.
