Tony Khan gave some more information after a top AEW star was replaced in a major match due to injury. This will have more implications for other competitors.

At ROH Final Battle next week, Rush was supposed to challenge Bandido for the world title. However, due to a knee injury, the AEW star has not been cleared, and the entire match has been changed as a result. It will now be a Survival of the Fittest match featuring Hechicero, Komander, Blake Christian, Sammy Guevara, and Beast Mortos, now being in play for the title.

Tony Khan has revealed that on December 26 at ROH Boxing Day Brawl, Komander will face Lee Moriarty for the Pure Championship, a bout originally scheduled for Final Battle. However, should the luchador walk out of Final Battle as the new ROH World Champion, his match with Moriarty will become a title-for-title contest.

"With Rush out of #ROHFinalBattle after his injury vs Bandido on Collision 11/15, Komander was called up for the World Title Survival of the Fittest. Lee Moriarty will now defend vs Komander at ROH Boxing Day Brawl 12/26! If Komander is World Champion, it will be title-for-title!" TK wrote.

This is an interesting development that was all triggered by El Toro Blanco being out of action.

Rush's injury has also impacted other AEW stars

Since Rush isn't cleared for the pay-per-view, LFI's hold on the ROH Tag Team Titles is also in jeopardy, as he will not be around to defend them. This is similar to what happened to Dustin Rhodes when he got injured, and the Sons of Texas had to vacate the belts.

LFI were forced to vacate the belts, but at Final Battle, they have the chance to win these back. Guevara will team up with Beast Mortos as they face the duo of Tommy Billington and Adam Priest.

LFI has been on a great run in both AEW and ROH. But this could all change this weekend. Members of the faction will be featured in two title contests, but there could be a real chance they walk away with no gold on their shoulders. This would be an insult to injury as they are dealing with their leader being sidelined.
