A wrestling veteran said that Tony Khan will be counter-programming John Cena's final match with a big AEW title match. The All Elite Wrestling show will be on the same day as Saturday Night's Main Event this weekend.
Tony Khan is counter-programming John Cena's last match, according to the wrestling veteran, Disco Inferno. Cena's retirement match is set to be against Gunther at Saturday Night's Main Event on December 13. On the same day, Collision: Winter is Coming will take place in Cardiff, Wales.
To avoid counter-programming with SNME and Cena's last match, AEW shifted the timing of Collision to 4:30 pm EST. However, Disco Inferno believes that Tony Khan is attempting to counterprogram Cena's retirement with a TNT title match between Mark Briscoe and Daniel Garcia at Collision: Winter is Coming.
Speaking on the K100 podcast, Disco Inferno talked about the upcoming match between Briscoe and Garcia and said that it is to counter Cena's last match:
Brock Lesnar's retirement date leaked? Check the details!
"Okay, what's December 13th? Cena's last match, this is the counterprogram," Disco said.
John Cena made a shocking claim ahead of his retirement
Ahead of his retirement match at SNME on December 13, John Cena made a massive claim that he will be forgotten after his retirement. Speaking on the Joe Rogan Experience recently, Cena stated that WWE will be focusing on the upcoming shows after his retirement, and he will be forgotten:
“I’m gonna retire on the 13th, they will be moved on by the Royal Rumble, and that is real facts, I will be forgotten. That is not a plea to sympathy of like ‘always remember me.’ By the Royal Rumble, the road to WrestleMania, nobody gives a f*ck, ‘cause they’re focusing on what the show is. That’s like 3 weeks after I retire, 3 weeks after I retire, nobody’s going to give a f*ck," Cena admitted.
What transpires in Cena's retirement match against Gunther remains to be seen.
