Tony Khan breaks silence after new champion is crowned at ROH Final Battle 2025

A brand new champion got crowned on the ROH Final Battle pay-per-view, and Tony Khan sent a message on the same. The first-ever champion has been decided through a tournament.

Tony Khan issued a statement after the AEW star, Deonna Purrazzo got crowned the first-ever Ring of Honor Women's Pure Champion. The title was unveiled a few months back, and it was announced that a tournament would be conducted to determine the first-ever champion. The tournament had been going on for quite some time.

The final of the title tournament happened to be between Deonna Purrazzo and Billie Starkz at the Ring of Honor Final Battle 2025 pay-per-view. At the end of a competitive encounter, Purrazzo defeated Starkz to become the first-ever ROH Women's Pure Champion.

After the new champion was crowned, Tony Khan took to the X social media platform to congratulate Deonna Purrazzo. Khan wrote the following in his message to The Virtuosa:

Tony Khan on an ex-WWE star becoming the first-ever champion recently

The ex-WWE star, Ricochet, recently became the first-ever AEW National Champion by winning the Casino Gauntlet at Full Gear 2025. Speaking on the Battleground Podcast recently, Khan reflected on his decision to crown Ricochet, stating that he will be traveling to other promotions to defend his title:

“We’ve got a new National Champion, Ricochet, who will be defending that title all over the world. And he’s somebody that not only AEW fans respect–I believe he’s a great, great wrestler–but also someone who is a huge name in wrestling and a great person to represent [All Elite Wrestling], not just here on our TV shows, but also when traveling to other promotions in America," Tony said.

Ricochet's first AEW National title defense took place against Dalton Castle at ROH Final Battle 2025. Only time will tell what the former WWE Superstar does in his title reign.
