The wife of a top WWE Superstar recently revealed that she had gotten into trouble with Tony Khan after some of her past comments. She mentioned how this happened when they were both still affiliated with AEW.

Miro and CJ Perry (AKA Rusev and Lana) were both with the Jacksonville-based promotion at one point in 2023. The Bulgarian Brute spent roughly five years with the company, while his wife was only around for a few months. They even had a storyline with one another, which never progressed.

While speaking on TMZ's Inside The Ring, Perry mentioned there was a running joke about her needing to plead the Fifth during interviews. This was due to instances where she would accidentally go viral on social media for some of her comments, something that she says made Tony Khan furious.

"I needed to plead the Fifth because I was doing too many interviews to make him go viral. And then Tony Khan would call him and be pissed (…) We do a 6 a.m. radio interview in Wisconsin. This is like nothing on media, this is just a little phoner, you know, 5:45 for like North Dakota. I love North Dakota. And next thing you know, it’s going trending on Twitter for four days."

One of these included her seemingly hinting that Rusev would make his return to WWE. Her husband then claimed that she was like a parrot, as she would repeat everything he would say. The interesting thing is, this all ended up being true.

"And Rusev returns. Not Miro at AEW, but Rusev. And it’s because they asked me, ‘do you think he will ever return to the Royal Rumble?’ And I’m like, ‘everyone returns to the WWE.’ But I’m sorry. Like, and then the funny thing is Miro’s like, ‘she’s just a parrot. She just repeats what I say.’ And it’s true.” [H/T ITRWrestling]

CJ Perry revealed that Vince McMahon tried to invite Vladimir Putin to a WWE show

Despite being a Bulgarian native, Rusev often showed support for Russia during his run as the United States Champion in 2014. His wife and manager, Lana, was also Russian, so the duo would often display the country's flag during their entrances and segments.

During the same interview on TMZ's Inside the Ring, CJ Perry revealed that Vince McMahon was the one who worked on her promos, and at the time, he seemed to want to invite Vladimir Putin himself to come to a WWE show.

"Vince [McMahon] just could identify more with Putin because you know, Vince is lifting 650 lbs, you know? At 75 he is squatting. It’s like, you’re a maniac. He wanted Vladimir Putin to come to a show. He’s like ‘I hope he’s going to come," Lana said.

In his second run with WWE, Rusev has come in with a new persona. This one is very similar to his gimmick in AEW, where he was known as The Redeemer. It remains to be seen what heights he'll reach with this new character.
