AEW star Toni Storm decided to throw in the towel for her teammate, whom she usually refers to as her "wife," at Blood and Guts tonight. The Timeless star has been a good friend to Mina Shirakawa in the past few months. The two stars were part of the first-ever women's Blood and Guts match alongside Kris Statlander, Willow Nightingale, Harley Cameron, and Jamie Hayter.The faction took on Triangle of Madness, Mercedes Mone, Megan Bayne, and Marina Shafir. The extremely bloody contest saw all the women execute unbelievable spots. There were championship belts, a bat wrapped in barbed wire, nails, tables, broken glass, and many other accessories. In the end, after the rest of the babyface contestants were down, Mina Shirakawa was left alone.While Marina Shafir held her in a chokehold to suffocate, Megan whipped Mina with a title belt. Toni Storm refused to let Shirakawa suffer and therefore surrendered.AEW veteran Taz praises Toni StormThe Timeless gimmick has been one of AEW's most successful characters. Her title reign was also full of memorable moments.While speaking on Going Ringside, AEW commentator Taz said that Toni has unique charisma not only in the ring but in all aspects as a performer.“She is the most unique, creative, and talented lady you're going to meet. Not just in the ring as an athlete, but as a performer, what she does and her character. I think that's the case with Toni. It's tough for people to relate to the Toni Storm character, the Timeless One. But her entertainment, and how she brings out entertainment, and what she does, and her charisma, it makes [sic] a connection to the audience," he said.It remains to be seen what is next for the former AEW Women's World Champion.
