"They'll paint you as the villain"- Ex-WWE name fires back after recent AEW controversy

A former WWE talent involved in a recent walkout controversy in AEW has finally spoken out against her critics with a bold statement.

That star is Miranda Alize (a.k.a Miranda Ilissa), who had a brief stint in WWE as part of Adam Rose's Rose Buds in 2024 and also competed in the first round of the 2017 WWE Mae Young Classic. Alize, along with her partner and teammate Nixon Newell (formerly Tegan Nox), recently found herself at the center of controversy after the duo walked out during the tapings of last Saturday's Collision. According to the latest reports and Newell's own statement, the reason for their walkout was that AEW production was giving them only three minutes on the show to wrestle and put over Anna Jay and Tay Melo. The decision resulted in widespread criticism for the team and prompted a statement from Newell, who clarified the situation on her Twitch stream. Now, Alize has followed suit with a bold message for her critics.

Taking to Instagram, the 31-year-old shared an inspirational message on her stories in which she says that freedom begins when you stand up for yourself.

"The moment you start standing up for yourself, everything shifts. Suddenly you're the problem - not because you've changed, but because you're no longer letting them take advantage of you. They'll paint you as the villain, but that's okay because you are finally choosing yourself. This is where your freedom begins," wrote Alize.

Wrestling veteran says Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize will not be booked again in AEW

On a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, analysts Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez weighed in on Newell and Alize's controversial walkout incident on Collision, along with Newell's clarification, which she shared on her Twitch stream. Addressing the situation as a whole, Meltzer said that neither woman will likely be seen on AEW programming again.

"All I know is, I do not expect these two to be booked in AEW, " said Dave Meltzer.

Considering that Tony Khan has not made an official statement about this, it will be interesting to see how this saga unfolds.
