Nexus has been one of the underrated factions in WWE that could have been on the top if they had been booked right. The faction debuted in 2010 and included Wade Barrett, David Otunga, Bryan Danielson, Justin Gabriel, Heath Slater, and CM Punk.

Former AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson was also part of the group in the initial phase, but he left the faction in just a few months. The stable lasted a little over a year but is still one of the biggest 'What Ifs' in wrestling history, as it carried a lot of potential.

While speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, former Nexus member David Otunga said they are still connected through a group chat.

“I mean, there is, somebody just has to call for it. We still have a group thread. We still talk. We have a Nexus group chat," he said.

David revealed that the group cut ties with Bryan Danielson, as the former WWE Champion had betrayed them at the 2010 WWE SummerSlam.

“Everybody but Daniel Bryan. I mean, he turned on us at SummerSlam. Everybody else is in it. We’re all for one. You’re either Nexus or against us. But in all seriousness, we went through a lot together. We knew each other in FCW, became friends, and then started on the road together, went through NXT, we formed real friendships. Also, it was nerve-wracking and stressful, and we were rookies, we’re in a class together, we felt like we were being hazed and whatnot. But going through all that together, it makes you bond," he said. [H/T - Chris Van Vliet]

David Otunga blames WWE legend John Cena for Nexus's downfall

The Cenation leader feuded with Nexus for a long time. However, the faction never stood strongly against him.

While speaking with Chris Van Vliet, David said he believes John Cena buried Nexus.

“Oh yeah, that’s 100% accurate. I mean, that’s what happened, that is what happened,” he said.

It will be interesting to see if WWE ever books a Nexus reunion.
