A former AEW champion suffered a major defeat on tonight's episode of Dynamite. The post-Full Gear Dynamite was packed with exciting matches as the Continental Classic tournament began this week. Both leagues feature top names and former champions. One of the tournament's significant names was Darby Allin.

The former two-time TNT Champion defeated Jon Moxley at WrestleDream. However, he couldn't overcome PAC at AEW Full Gear. Along with Darby Allin, one of the promising stars, Kevin Knight was also announced for the high-stakes tournament. While he has been tagging with "Speedball" Mike Bailey over the past few months, he has been an incredible singles wrestler.

The two began by countering each other's moves. However, many fans were shocked to see the Jet cleverly dodging Darby Allin's finishers. After several dynamic exchanges between them, Kevin Knight pulled off a major upset, defeating three-time champion Darby to win three points.

Kevin Knight took a chance by joining AEW and rejecting the WWE offer

The Jet proved his worth in NJPW. Despite being signed, he was exploring other options earlier this year. He received offers from both AEW and WWE immediately. However, while Tony Khan offered him a direct spot on the roster, Kevin Knight had to go through tryouts, according to reports. Ultimately, he chose to become All Elite.

While speaking with RJ City on Hey! (EW), Kevin confirmed the reports and said he had rejected the offer from the sports entertainment juggernaut.

"Were you like, well f**k those guys?" City questioned. "Of course, we heard about that story, right?" Knight answered. "What was the declining phone call?" RJ asked. "The declining phone call? I don't need this, this ain't my job, you know what I'm saying? Just like that, quoted," Knight said.

It will be interesting to see what is next for Knight and how many more upsets he pulls off in the rest of the Continental Classic tournament.
