Samoa Joe has received a huge challenge for his recently won AEW World Championship. The challenger in question, Eddie Kingston, made his return to the company around a couple of months ago.

Last Saturday at Full Gear 2025, Samoa Joe captured the All Elite Wrestling Men's World Championship for the second time in his career by beating Adam Page in a Steel Cage Match, courtesy of a decisive assist from Hook, who betrayed The Cowboy and revealed himself to have been a covert member of The Opps all along. The Cold Hearted Handsome Devil reuniting with the AEW World Trios Champions seemingly also put an end to his brief alliance with Eddie Kingston, which began after the latter returned to action from injury at All Out: Toronto.

The Mad King had even tried to help Page by foiling the intervention of Katsuyori Shibata at Full Gear, and defeated The Wrestler one-on-one on the latest Thursday-night edition of AEW Collision. Following his win over Shibata, Kingston cut a promo for the crowd, explaining that although he retained his sympathy for Hook, the former FTW Champion would rightfully face the consequences of his actions at the hands of Hangman and Swerve.

He then turned his attention to Samoa Joe, issuing the "King of Television" his first challenge after he won the title at Full Gear. He called for Joe to put his World Title on the line against him at AEW Dynamite: Winter is Coming on December 10.

"Samoa Joe, look at me in my eyes, I live behind these... Joe, I was out for eighteen months with a knee injury, and all I could think about was being back in this ring, because this ring gives me peace, I have no peace in this life, the only peace I have, is when I'm in this ring fighting. And Joe, on December 10th, Winter is Coming, do me a favour and don't be a p***y, defend the title against me," he said.

It remains to be seen whether Kingston will be able to unseat Joe as World Champion.
