Samoa Joe did the unthinkable and toppled AEW's beloved champion, 'Hangman' Adam Page, at Full Gear. Hook turned out to be the major factor in the title change as he turned heel. However, minutes after the victory, the newly crowned king was confronted by the Most Dangerous Man in AEW, Swerve Strickland. The pay-per-view ended with both babyfaces standing tall over the heel faction.

There were mixed reactions on social media after the incidents that occurred in the main event of Full Gear. Most fans hated that their beloved Hangman Page lost the World Title so early. On the other hand, many were excited to see Strickland return to the mix. Several also expressed discontent that Hook was the secret weapon in the story.

Samoa Joe kept quiet for two days after winning the AEW World Championship. Today, the Samoan Submission Machine took to X/Twitter and addressed fans, mocking them for being upset.

Veteran talks about Samoa Joe's credibility

The reigning AEW World Champion has been one of the most vicious heels in the business. He had turned heel shortly before winning the World Title the first time in the promotion, and history repeated itself before he won this time.

While speaking on Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray said that Samoa could be the biggest villain and be a main event player in AEW if booked well.

"I think Samoa Joe could be the biggest heel in that company and be in several main events. Joe is, you know, in his mid-40s... so he's kind of in, not cruise control mode, but Joe knows in that company sometimes they use him, sometimes they don't. I bet you if Joe knew 'Joe for the next year, this is what we have planned for you. You're going to do this, this, and this,' you'd find an even more motivated Samoa Joe that truly leaned in to everything," Ray said.

It will be interesting to see who will be the first challenger for the newly crowned AEW World Champion.
