The AEW World Champion, Samoa Joe opened up on a star's legacy of championships who recently turned heel. Eddie Kingston responded by firing some personal shots at Joe.
Next Wednesday on AEW Winter is Coming, Samoa Joe is slated to defend his World title against Eddie Kingston. Ahead of their title match, Joe and Kingston confronted each other for a promo battle on this week's Dynamite. Both of them took some shots at each other during the segment.
Joe also addressed the shocking heel turn of HOOK at Full Gear 2025, as HOOK attacked Hangman Page to help Joe win the AEW World title in the main event. During his promo on Dynamite, Joe described HOOK as a man who grew up with the championship legacy of his father, Taz and his mentor:
"HOOK is a man who has grown up with a championship legacy. His father, a great champion, his mentor, a great champion in the industry," Joe said.

In response to Joe during the promo, Eddie Kingston fired shots at The Samoan Submission Machine, saying that, despite his achievements in wrestling, he is now a guy who jumps people from behind and uses HOOK to succeed. Kingston also stated that Joe became everything he used to hate in wrestlers.
AEW star described Samoa Joe and The Opps as his family
Following his shocking heel turn at Full Gear 2025, the AEW star HOOK was asked during an interview on this week's Dynamite whether he helped Samoa Joe to prove his loyalty to The Opps. HOOK agreed with the question and said that Joe and The Opps are his family:
"One hundred percent, I mean, Hobbs is like my big brother, Shibata has been a great friend, coach, mentor and Joe, Joe's like my uncle from a young age. I mean The Opps are my family," HOOK said.
