Ricky Saints has been on a great run since signing with NXT after departing from AEW earlier this year. Tonight at Deadline, he has seemingly paid tribute to a legend from the Jacksonville-based promotion.

Saints was with All Elite Wrestling for almost five years, a stint that has given him multiple championship runs, including the FTW title and the world tag team titles. During the latter stages of his tenure with the company, he was no longer being utilized and was eventually granted his release, marking the end of his 5-year term.

He has only been with NXT for almost ten months, but he already holds the reigns as the North American Champion and NXT Champion. He won the latter after beating Oba Femi at No Mercy back in late September.

Tonight at Deadline, the two stars had their rematch, and this one was full of back-and-forth moments across the contest. At one point in the match, Ricky Saints hit a Famouser on Femi. This was a move made popular by Billy Gunn, as he called this the "Famea**er". Saints may have been paying tribute to the AEW legend, given that this is not part of his usual move-set.

In the end, Ricky Saints would unfortunately fall to Oba Femi, ending his reign at 70 days. The Ruler was dominant during his last run as the NXT Champion, so it will be interesting to see if this will be the same case now that he is back on top. He looks forward to Saturday Night's Main Event next week as he has earned a bout with Cody Rhodes.

As for Saints, it seems as if he has hinted at him possibly heading towards a main roster run. Should this be the case, it'll be interesting to see how Ricky Saints will fare on the main roster.
