Real reason behind former AEW star's extended in-ring absence revealed

A former AEW star has been absent from in-ring action for quite some time, and now the actual reason behind her disappearance has been revealed.

That star in question is Kiera Hogan, who made her name in TNA (IMPACT Wrestling), where she became a two-time IMPACT Knockout Tag Team Champion alongside Tasha Steelz. The 31-year-old joined AEW in 2021 and made sporadic appearances for the Jacksonville-based promotion before officially leaving in September 2025, although her last televised match for All Elite Wrestling took place in February 2024 against Deonna Purrazzo on Collision. Hogan, meanwhile, has not wrestled since April of this year, and although she had previously mentioned that she was taking a break, a new update from her former partner, Steelz, reveals that Hogan is recovering from an injury.

During a recent virtual signing for K&S Festival, Steelz was asked to comment on her Fire 'N Flava partner, who said:

“Shout out to my Fire, Kiera Hogan. Heal up soon, girl…” [H/T: Ringside News]

Her shoutout suggests that Kiera is injured, and it was confirmed when the virtual signing host mentioned he wasn't aware of the injury, to which Steelz simply replied, 'Yes.'

Kiera Hogan says she has not closed the doors on AEW

Following her official exit from All Elite Wrestling in September, Hogan, during a virtual signing with RDP Productions, confirmed that she has not closed the doors on the Jacksonville-based promotion or even IMPACT Wrestling. The 31-year-old even said that she will be wrestling again soon.

I mean, I’m so grateful for AEW and the time that I had at AEW. Doors are never closed. Same thing with IMPACT. I know doors are never closed. I’m actually on a little bit of a break right now, because I have something coming up, but I will talk about that later. But, just know, I’m not done with wrestling.

With Hogan currently recovering from an undisclosed injury, fans will have to wait to see when she'll return to the ring and which promotion she'll appear in.
