A popular AEW star has been ruled out of action due to injury recently. Following that, he issued a heartbreaking statement after being benched for an extended period. The aforementioned star in question is Rush. He was supposed to challenge Bandido for the ROH World Championship. However, before that could happen, he reportedly injured his knee, and Tony Khan announced that the match had been changed as a result. Bandido will now put his title on the line against Sammy Guevara, Blake Christian, Hechicero, Komander, and Beast Mortos in a Survival of the Fittest match. This comes as a major setback for the AEW star, who is missing out on a huge opportunity. It also led to him and Sammy Guevara vacating the ROH Tag Team titles. Moreover, Rush joins his brother, Draslistico, on the injury list, who has reportedly needed ear surgery, putting another member of La Facción Ingobernable on the sidelines. He recently took to X to share a photo of himself and vowed that the duo would return in a heartbreaking, emotional statement."We will return stronger than ever, that's a promise. #aew #LFI."Another top AEW star has been announced to be out of actionApart from Rush, Tony Khan announced during the AEW Full Gear 2025 pay-per-view media scrum that former ROH Tag Team Champion Kyle O'Reilly will also be out of action. Khan said that he may have suffered potential injuries during his No Holds Barred match against Death Riders leader Jon Moxley."Kyle O’Reilly will probably be out of action and it’s unfortunate because Kyle did want to wrestle in the Continental Classic. He was really excited about it… I think Kyle’s probably not going to be cleared and will probably have to deal with some injuries coming out of what was an incredible no-holds-barred match," said Khan. With two top stars on the injury list, it remains to be seen what All Elite Wrestling will do with their creative plans moving forward.
