Early in his journey in the squared circle, Edris began performing for WWE, appearing primarily on its developmental brand NXT. He is well-known for his breakout match against Solo Sikoa in November 2021, soon after which he and his new tag partner, Malik Blade, entered the 2022 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, advancing all the way to the semifinals. The duo was regularly featured on NXT and NXT: Level Up as a prominent tag team.

Some time earlier, Enofe announced that he was going to be parting ways with the sports entertainment juggernaut, having wrestled his last match for the promotion this past September on WWE Evolve in a losing effort against Sean Legacy. The 31-year-old star was recently spotted on X/Twitter in a photograph posted by one of AEW's top names, Swerve Strickland. The picture was seemingly taken after a training session, judging from the former World Champion's caption.

The Realest made his AEW return this past Saturday at Full Gear, after a shocking main event finish.

How a former WWE champion won the AEW World Title at Full Gear

In the main event of Full Gear, Adam Page defended his AEW World Championship against former ROH, TNA, and WWE legend and reigning AEW World Trios Champion Samoa Joe. The main event bout ended in shocking fashion as, despite surviving outside interference from Katsuyori Shibata and Powerhouse Hobbs, The Cowboy was blindsided by Hook's betrayal, which opened the door for Joe to secure the victory and the World Title.

Afterward, The Samoan Submission Machine was celebrating his win with his trios partners, now reunited with Hook and members of The Opps dojo. The proceedings were interrupted, however, by the return of Swerve Strickland, who confronted Joe and then attacked and took out his students, ending the show standing side by side with The Hangman.
