Tay Melo's hometown in Brazil, Rio de Janeiro, has witnessed aggression in the past few hours. The police raided a criminal organization this Tuesday, but it came with a cost. Around four police officers and 60 people were found dead when the criminals retaliated.

Amid the unrest, the 30-year-old star said she had spent many hours worrying about her brother-in-law as he tried to escape the dangerous circumstances in Rio de Janeiro. While he is safe, she still hopes that the ambush doesn't continue.

"All I can do is pray and cry. My body is shaking nonstop .. all the videos, photos .. pray for Rio. My brother in law finally made it home after so many hours trying to do so, the fear of waiting and hoping everything works out well is so bad. They are inside and as safe as they can be. Today feels heavy," she wrote on X.

Tay Melo has been aiming to win major titles for months

For the past year, Tony Khan teased bringing the AEW Women's World Tag Team Championship into AEW. However, due to occasional injuries in the female division, he couldn't. A few weeks ago, the company finally introduced the tag titles.

In July 2025, while speaking with Denise Salcedo, Tay Melo said she was aiming to go after the championship, even before it was introduced.

"I have been reading about the titles, the tag titles, so maybe it’s in the future–who knows? TayJay is here, and we’re waiting for it. We have been working together since day one. So it’s a dream for us. If it happens, we’re here, and we’re coming for it," Melo said.

It will be interesting to see which of these eight teams will make history.
