That star is Buddy Matthews, who has been on an injury-related break from the Jacksonville-based promotion since February 2025. The Best Kept Secret's last appearance for the promotion was at the AEW Grand Slam: Australia pay-per-view, where he injured his ankle during his entrance. At the event, Matthews faced Kazuchika Okada for his Continental Championship, a match he lost. More recently, the Australian star has undergone successful surgery to repair his leg and is now on the road to recovery.

Outside the ring, Matthews is married to WWE star and fellow pro wrestler Rhea Ripley, and despite working for rival promotions, the couple is known for supporting each other, especially on social media. Last Saturday, Ripley took part in the Women's WarGames match at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames 2025. The Eradicator's team, which consisted of Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, Iyo Sky, and AJ Lee, defeated the team of Becky Lynch, Nia Jax, Lash Legend, and the Kabuki Warriors on the night.

Sometime after the event, she posted a photo of herself on Instagram in her WarGames gear, which caught her husband's attention. He reacted with fire emojis to show his support for her.
