Former WWE superstar Lana made a shocking revelation about the Stamford-based promotion not allowing her to their shows. However, she did have a good reason for her situation.

She started as the manager of her real-life husband, Rusev, and then transitioned to in-ring competition. Lana was released in 2021, a year after Rusev joined rival promotion AEW and was slowly emerging to become a top fixture for the Jacksonville-based promotion.

In a recent interview with TMZ's Inside The Ring, the real-life CJ Perry revealed that WWE had banned her from attending shows when Rusev was a part of AEW, so she started to go to their events. However, she still wanted to attend her former company's shows at that time.

"After I got released, I took a year off from going to any wrestling shows cuz I was just really burned out. I was on the 800 days… I had been on a plane in 10 years. I was like, I can’t get on a plane again. And I was so tired. And then a year later, I was like, I miss wrestling. Like, I miss going to wrestling shows, and WWE wouldn’t let me in because you know, Miro was at AEW. And then, I started going to AEW shows with Miro, and I loved it. And I’m like, I want to go to WWE shows too because I love WWE. I worked there, and my friends are there."- H/T TJR Wrestling

Lana revealed that she apparently retired from wrestling after WWE release

In a recent appearance on the Unwrapped podcast, Lana revealed that she had apparently retired from in-ring competition following her WWE release in 2021. At the same time, she reflected on her tenure and called it a blessing.

“I got signed in 2013, and then I apparently retired in 2021," she said. "Apparently retired. No, [on if her contract expired] I actually had three more years on my contract. Yeah, I got released. I was on a five-year contract. I covered two, which was such a great blessing because I was on a higher-paying tier, which was so awesome. Yeah. But it got cut short.”

With Rusev's wife under a legends deal with WWE right now, it remains to be seen if she could make her return to their television programming in some capacity.
