AEW has made an official announcement involving the former World Champion, Jon Moxley, and other top stars on social media. Moxley is set for another big challenge after some recent major setbacks.

Ever since losing his AEW World title at All In: Texas in July, the rest of 2025 has not been great for Jon Moxley. He lost an 'I Quit' match to Darby Allin, tapped out in the men's Blood and Guts match, and even lost a no-holds-barred match to Kyle O'Reilly at Full Gear 2025 recently.

Following a string of setbacks, Moxley's immediate future in AEW has been announced. Tony Khan's promotion recently revealed the lineup for the most anticipated 2025 Continental Classic tournament. Moxley has been announced for the Blue League of the tournament with five other stars as well.

Other participants in the Blue League will be the current IWGP Heavyweight Champion, Konosuke Takeshita, Claudio Castagnoli, Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong, and Mascara Dorada. Interestingly, the Death Riders stablemates, Moxley and Claudio, will be in the same league, which could cause some tension between the two.

With Jon Moxley in the Blue League, the Gold League lineup is also official

While the Blue League for the 2025 Continental Classic looks stacked with the likes of Jon Moxley and Konosuke Takeshita, the Gold League will also feature some top names. The AEW Unified Champion, Kazuchika Okada, who will be defending his title in the tournament, is in the Gold league.

The other participants in the Gold League will be Darby Allin, PAC, Kevin Knight, Speedball Mike Bailey, and Kyle Fletcher. In this league, the Don Callis Family stablemates, Okada and Fletcher, will be facing each other, which could make things heated between the two.

According to the rules of Continental Classic, two participants from both leagues will advance to the semi-finals, and the final will take place at Worlds End 2025, where the Unified Champion will be decided. It remains to be seen who wins the C2 this year.
