A top AEW champion shocked fans by paying tribute to WWE legend John Cena at last night's Dynamite: Winter is Coming. Cena has now responded to the gesture.John Cena is just one match away from finishing his retirement run in WWE. In his final bout, the Leader of Cenation is set to face Gunther at Saturday Night's Main Event this Saturday. During the run, Cena paid tribute to many of his former rivals by using their signature moves in his matches. In return, some of his rivals have reciprocated by using Cena's moves in their matches, and the latest star to pay tribute to the Last Real Champion is Samoa Joe. At Dynamite: Winter is Coming, the reigning AEW World Champion defended his title against Eddie Kingston. During the match, the Samoan Submission Machine applied Cena's iconic STF submission on Kingston and even did a quick salute as a nod to Cena. It seems Cena has finally taken notice, as he reacted to Joe's reference by posting a picture of the incident on his Instagram a few hours ago today.
