AEW veteran Jim Ross has been dealing with multiple health issues in the past few years. He was one of the original names who joined the Jacksonville-based promotion when the company was first established. However, with time, his presence on the commentary desk decreased due to deteriorating health conditions.
In May, the AEW commentator was diagnosed with colon cancer, but after surgery, he announced that he was cancer-free. At the age of 73, he still has multiple health issues. However, he still wants to be part of AEW shows, mainly at pay-per-view events.
While speaking on his podcast, Grilling JR, the veteran claimed that health was all that mattered, as he had terrifying experiences in the past two months and updated fans on the same. He also said he loves to interact with fans and attend different shows, which felt like medicine for the legend.
“And I can tell you from my own personal experiences — your health, it’s all about your health, man. All about your health. You know, there were times in the last 60 days I didn’t know if I was going to make it. So, it’s serious. Uh, I use a cane or a walker, and I have to have a little help when I’m flying, but I love going to these appearances and seeing the fans and hearing their stories. It’s good medicine for me, quite frankly," Ross said. [H/T - Ringside News]

Jim Ross could be a part of Worlds End
This year's Worlds End pay-per-view will take place in December 2027 in Chicago. Just like last year, it will be jam-packed with high-stakes matches. It seems like Jim Ross might be a part of the event.
Speaking on his Grilling JR podcast, the legendary AEW commentator said that he might be a part of the pay-per-view next month.
“Probably next month. That’s my assumption, next month,” Ross said.
It remains to be seen what will be next for Jim Ross.
