An AEW star just provided her health update while she broke down in tears on social media.Rebel was a prominent feature on AEW TV during the company's early days. She allied with Dr. Britt Baker during the latter's heel run. Their alliance made for many entertaining moments onscreen. Rebel played a pivotal role during Baker's run as AEW Women's World Champion. However, her role in the company has diminished considerably in recent years.Britt Baker's former ally took to Instagram to share her health update with fans. She said that she was initially hospitalized in 2024 for cryptococcal pneumonia and was on antifungals for a year. After a year of not getting better, she went to the Mayo Clinic, where she found out that she didn't have cryptococcal pneumonia. Instead, Rebel has primary pulmonary lymphoma, which is cancer in the lungs. She broke down in tears as she made the announcement."Hi. I wanted to come on here and give you guys an update on my health. As you know, in May of 2024, I was hospitalized for what I thought was cryptococcal pneumonia which is bumble masses on my lungs. I went a year long on antifungals, and after a year of antifungals, I was not getting better. Along the way, there wasn't a very smooth sailing journey to where I am right now. "There was infections, ruptures, and tumors. So, I had to address those as well. After a year of not getting better, I decided to go to the Mayo Clinic to see if I could get treated by them. They found that it was not cryptococcal pneumonia this whole time and that it is primary pulmonary lymphoma, which is cancer in the lungs. If there is a best-case scenario, then I have it, so that's good. That's what I recently found out, and I wanted to let you guys know. [breaks down crying]"The AEW star then revealed that she has started rehab since she has a functional neurological disorder, which has hindered her ability to walk, and she has lost some ability to use her right hand. She also said that she needed to get the therapy done before she could take care of her cancer."Anyway, so tomorrow I start rehab because along this tumultuous journey, I have picked up a little disorder called Functional Neurological Disorder, and it has taken my ability to walk. I now walk with a walker, and my ability to speak clearly...I don't know if you can tell, but sounds like I bit my tongue, and I've also lost some ability in my right hand, so I kind of have a claw hand. It's hard for me to use my dominant hand. I get really right and do my makeup - obvious things like that. "So, I have rehab tomorrow, and I'm very hopeful that I can gain some of that function with this. It's a very aggressive, intense therapy - it's Monday through Friday, 8 to 5, so like a full-time job. I'm very hopeful for it. So that's about it - that's the short story, and I just wanted to let you guys know because I've been posting things here and there, but it wasn't clear, and I wanted to be clear with you guys."
