A member of The Hurt Syndicate in AEW recently shared a controversial opinion regarding professional wrestling. The star also explained his statement in detail.
The Hurt Syndicate member MVP shared an unpopular opinion just ahead of this week's AEW Dynamite. MVP said that he is not a fan of intergender wrestling and explained the reason behind it.
Speaking on his Marking Out podcast recently, MVP compared intergender wrestling to other combat sports like boxing and MMA.
“I'mma p*ss a lot of you people off right now and that’s okay. I am not a fan of intergender wrestling. I don’t like it, I’m not a fan of it. Again, this is what I was talking about before, the video game culture — who are now in wrestling — grew up playing Chun Lee and kicking the sh*t out of people. I approach wrestling from the simulated combat mindset. I’ve always liked the shoot style, I like the realness. That’s why I fell in love with Japanese wrestling. As soon as you do intergender sh*t, now it’s unbelievable."

MVP added:
"You don’t have intergender boxing. You don’t have intergender MMA because biology matters. I once asked my ex-girlfriend, who was a professional fighter, I was talking to her about intergender wrestling and I said, 'Okay, all things level. A male fighter, your height and your weight with a comparable skill set to you. You guys fight, real boxing match, what happens?' She said, ‘I get killed.’ She didn’t even wait. She just said, ‘I get killed.’ It’s biology.” [H/T: Fightful]
The Hurt Syndicate faced a huge setback in its last AEW title match
On the October 22 episode of Dynamite, MVP, Shelton Benjamin, and Bobby Lashley of The Hurt Syndicate challenged The Opps for the AEW World Trios Championship. Despite being the favorites, the Syndicate failed to capture the title due to Ricochet's interference.
Lashley and Shelton couldn't capture the new AEW National Championship at Full Gear 2025, as Ricochet won the Casino Gauntlet. It remains to be seen what's next for The Hurt Syndicate.
