Last week, before Dynamite, Tony Khan revealed that Queen Aminata was no longer medically cleared to compete during the show. Later on, it was announced that this would also be the case for the AEW Women's Blood and Guts match. Despite being a pivotal member of her six-woman team, Khan needed to find a replacement for her.

Aminata addressed her injury during the 26th episode of her vlog posted on her YouTube Channel. She mentioned that she was feeling tightness in her neck, and due to limited movement because of this, she was not cleared for action. She then mentioned that she was willing to take a 2-3 week absence rather than compete, which could aggravate the injury and lead to a six-month absence.

“I was not cleared because my neck is so tight I cannot—now I can’t even move a little bit. And because of that, I got taken out of the match today, and that resulted in me being taken out of Blood & Guts. But you know what? I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. Safety comes first. I’d rather be out for two to three weeks than be out for six months.”

She continued by saying that her priority is to recover and be in better condition than she was before her injury.

“Every single time I get hurt and I’m possibly staying home, I change my diet right away… The moment I change my diet, I don’t make being hurt the priority anymore. My priority now is to make sure I recover and I recover better than I was prior to injury.”

Who replaced Queen Aminata for AEW Blood and Guts?

Tony Khan revealed last week that for the match on AEW Dynamite against Megan Bayne, Mina Shirakawa would be filling in for Queen Aminata. It was then revealed that this would also be the case for the Women's Blood and Guts match.

Mina is the perfect candidate since she is in a duo with Toni Storm, who is in the match, and has had her fair share of run-ins with Bayne and The Triangle of Madness.

This year's edition of AEW Blood and Guts will feature the first-ever women's edition of the brutal contest. This has been something that has been building up over the past few months, and various storylines in the women's division are set to intersect for this contest.
