A report came in about Swerve Strickland's imminent return after an absence of around four months. This comes just mere hours before this year's edition of Full Gear.

The former AEW World Champion has not been seen since Forbidden Door in August. He competed that night against Kazuchika Okada for the Unified Championship. Before this, he was already dealing with his fair share of injuries. His loss to Okada and the attack by Wardlow and the Don Callis Family served as a way to write him off-screen.

Swerve Strickland was dealing with a torn meniscus, which he underwent surgery for. Initial reports indicated that he would be out until the end of the year, with a return expected by January. Fightful Select has now provided new information that Swerve is expected to be back next month, barring any setbacks. He was supposed to take some time off a few months ago, but it seems like this was pushed back.

Swerve Strickland has made a cryptic post ahead of Full Gear

Swerve made a cryptic post ahead of AEW Full Gear. He has a great history of competing in pay-per-views, having faced Bobby Lashley at last year's show. But one match of his that has become memorable among fans is his Texas Death match against 'Hangman' Adam Page in 2023. This was a pivotal moment in their feud, which unlocked a darker side of both men.

Earlier today, Swerve Strickland took to X/Twitter and posted a photo of his match in 2023 with Hangman. This showed the gruesome scenes that were seen that night, with both men all bloodied up. He seemed to be looking back at one of his favorite Full Gear moments.

"Full ⛓️ Gear," wrote Strickland.

Swerve's return to AEW has been highly anticipated for some time now. Seeing as there is hope this comes imminently, fans are surely going to stay tuned tonight and in the coming shows, as this could happen at any time. His return will significantly change the landscape of the division.
