Jon Moxley is known to be one of the most ruthless wrestlers once he steps inside the squared circle. However, a popular AEW star revealed the side behind his on-screen persona by sharing an emotional gesture Moxley made for him.

The aforementioned star in question is Eddie Kingston. He suffered a major knee injury in 2024 and was out of action for almost 15 months before making his return at All Out 2025, where he defeated Big Bill in a singles match. In a recent interview on Busted Open Radio, the Mad King shared a particular instance from that time involving Jon Moxley, with whom he has had a captivating feud in AEW as well.

Kingston stated that The Purveyor of Violence brought his wife, Renee Paquette, and daughter to drop by his house for a visit. This was at a time when many people did not come to see, as Kingston revealed, but Moxley did, hinting at their close companionship.

Me and Jon became friends to the point where when I was out injured, not a lot of people came to see me. Jon did. Jon brought his wife, his kid. He didn't have to. It was like eight o'clock at night. I was like, ‘What are you doing? The baby got to eat. Let the baby eat, go to sleep.’ He’s like, ‘No, no, no. They wanted to see you.’ And we didn't talk business. We didn't talk wrestling. We just talked life. So that's my friendship with Moxley.”- H/T WrestlePurists

Eddie Kingston revealed in-depth details about his friendship with Jon Moxley

In the same interview, Eddie Kingston revealed that he and Jon Moxley began their careers together on the independent circuit. The duo would hang out together a lot, and Kingston even stated that Moxley is one of the few people in wrestling who was not 'fake.'

“Me and Moxley starved together out on the independents. We would see each other at shows and just hang out with each other… There's a lot of fake people in wrestling and it's pretty easy to spot them, if you know what you're looking for. And Jon’s not fake. Jon knows I'm not fake. So we just gravitated towards each other and just hung out, had our own inside jokes, all that stuff. When you starve with somebody, you really get to know them."- H/T WrestlePurists

With both AEW stars on the active roster now, it will be interesting if the company revisits the onscreen rivalry between Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston one more time.
