Samoa Joe was the victim of some trickery on AEW Dynamite last week, and now a WWE veteran says he must take strict action in response.

Last week on Dynamite: Fright Night, Samoa Joe faced Bobby Lashley, Hook, and Ricochet in a four-way match to determine the No. 1 Contender for Hangman Page's AEW World Title at the upcoming Full Gear 2025 pay-per-view.

The Samoan Submission Machine managed to win the match, after which he and The Opps celebrated in the ring. At the same time, Tony Schiavone appeared to facilitate the upcoming world title contract signing. However, it was soon revealed that it wasn't Schiavone but Page in disguise as the legend. He then revealed himself and attacked Joe.

The incident caught the attention of WWE veteran Jim Cornette, who weighed in, saying Joe should punish the real Schiavone for the incident.

Speaking on the latest edition of his Jim Cornette Experience, the veteran said that The Samoan Submission Machine should apply the Coquina Clutch to Schiavone, as he believed the legend was in on it.

"Yes! I think he ought to Coquina Clutch Schiavone to f***ing Kingdom come. He had to be in on it... Schiavone and Page obviously had to collaborate and cross-dress with each other, so I think he's guilty," said Cornette.

Tony Khan subtly says Samoa Joe will have a backstage role in AEW

Although Samoa Joe is currently excelling in the ring, The Samoan Submission Machine revealed recently that his career as a professional wrestler was coming to an end.

In a recent interview with Z100 New York, Tony Khan was asked about his opinion on Joe's retirement remarks, and the AEW president said he'd be valuable in a backstage role.

"Hugely valuable [in a backstage role]. Samoa Joe is already one of the top mentors in AEW, and anybody who steps in the ring with Samoa Joe learns a lot, and anybody who gets the tutelage of Samoa Joe in [All Elite Wrestling] learns a lot," Khan said.

It will be interesting to see if Samoa Joe decides to continue with All Elite Wrestling after his retirement.
