In the six years of its existence, AEW has signed many former WWE stars to its roster. WWE legends like Edge [Adam Copeland], Christian Cage, Chris Jericho, and Big Show [Paul Wight] are all currently signed with the Jacksonville-based promotion.

Former WWE head writer Vince Russo recently revealed that another former WWE star, D-Von Dudley, could've been part of the All Elite promotion. Instead, he, along with long-time tag team partner Bubba Ray Dudley, returned to TNA for their final match earlier this year.

Speaking on Writing with Russo on Sportskeeda WrestleBinge, Russo revealed that D-Von Dudley had some experiences with Tony Khan's promotion that weren't great, and things never materialized. Although he did confirm that conversations took place to get him on board but he wasn't interested in the storyline AEW pitched.

"He just told me he had some experiences with them that were not good experiences, you know what I mean? Yeah, I don't know. I think if things would have worked out with AEW, you know, D-Von would probably be saying something different. But I know they were interested, but he wasn't interested in what they wanted to do," Russo said.

While D-Von never signed for AEW, his sons, Terrell Hughes and Terrence Hughes, did make a few appearances for the promotion. Performing as a tag team, TNT, they were used as enhancement talent. Meanwhile, D-Von and Bubba Ray would eventually hang up their boots last month.

The Dudley Boyz competed for one last time at TNA's Bound For Glory, where they took on old rivals, The Hardy Boyz, for the TNA World Tag Team and NXT Tag Team Championships. Following their loss, Bubba and D-Von handed their boots to The Hardy Boyz before the four of them embraced each other, signalling the end of their historic in-ring career.
