A popular ex-WWE Superstar has just made his monumental return to being a singles competitor tonight at AEW Collision: Winter is Coming. He has once more reminded people why he is the most dangerous man on the roster.Swerve Strickland has not competed in a singles match in almost four months. His last one-on-one bout was against Kazuchika Okada at Forbidden Door for the Unified Championship. His in-ring return took place a few days ago on AEW Dynamite, when he teamed up with Hangman Page to take on The Opps in a Tornado Tag Team match.Last week, Swerve was confronted by Josh Alexander, as he looked to remind the former of who put him out of action. Alexander also listed down several things he had done over the past few months, including taking out Kota Ibushi, Kenny Omega, and winning one million dollars at Full Gear a few weeks ago. This confrontation was what set up tonight's bout. This was a high-intensity contest, with both men digging deep into their bag of tricks for this match. The Walking Weapon's technical wrestling expertise gave him a fight despite being against one of AEW's biggest stars. But in the end, Swerve Strickland was able to outlast him.Eventually, Swerve was able to connect with a brutal House Call, which was strong enough to knock off Alexander's headgear. He then topped this off by connecting with Big Pressure for the win.Post-match, Swerve cut a brief promo. After tonight, he claimed that he no longer cared about the Don Callis Family as he was setting his sights on a much more important prize, the world title. He called out Samoa Joe and boldly declared that he was going after him.It will be interesting to see how this plays out with AEW Worlds End taking place by the end of the year. He could end up being Joe's next challenger.
