Former WWE star Zayda Steel recently had a match at ROH Final Battle this past week. She faced off against Leila Grey in a singles encounter. Steel was one of the first wrestlers signed to the WWE ID program. She joined the project in 2024 with a bunch of rookies and hopefuls looking to make their way into NXT with a full-time developmental contract. The young star, in fact, made her wrestling debut back in 2022 and has also appeared on the company's Evolve brand. She was a member of the Vanity Project stable.Zayda showed up on the Tuesday night episode of ROH TV looking for a fight. She respectfully confronted Leila Grey, asking for an opportunity to show her skills in the ring. The match was made for ROH Final Battle this Friday. During the match, Steel showed her in-ring prowess but could not come up with the win. After the match, she took to Twitter to share her excitement. In a heartfelt post on Twitter, Zayda shared the news of parting ways with the company. The rookie detailed that she was grateful for her time in the company, learning about the business. However, she wanted to pursue a different path for herself. "I've decided not to renew my WWE ID contract. I’m incredibly grateful for all the knowledge, experience, and opportunities I've gained along the way, but at the end of the day, I have to do what’s best for me. I’m only 21, and have already done so much, but I’m just getting started! Thank you ❤️"The star is only 22 and has a long career ahead of her. It will be interesting to see how she fares in ROH and AEW in the coming months.
