AEW star Dustin Rhodes recently commented after his brother Cody Rhodes settled a crucial lawsuit. 'The American Nightmare' has been a popular term that was made famous by none other than Cody. However, the term belonged to an American singer, Wesley Eisold. The two signed an agreement in 2021, and the latter granted the reigning Undisputed WWE Champion the right to use the term for pro wrestling purposes, without trademarking the moniker. However, in September 2025, Wesley Eisold filed a lawsuit against WWE, Fanatics, and Rhodes, alleging that the star had breached their arrangement regarding merchandising. The case was reportedly settled recently, even though a skull is still on Cody's merch. The settlement terms were not revealed. After the success, Dustin Rhodes took to X/Twitter and took a jab at Wesley Eisold. He said that Cody Rhodes was a famous person, while the American musician wasn't."Nobody know Wesley [Eisold], and everyone in the world knows my brother," Dustin Rhodes wrote.Cody Rhodes expresses gratitude towards an AEW veteranThe American Nightmare has learnt a lot from legends throughout the years. I tell you one that I learned a lot from very short amount of time, Jake Robert, Jake 'The Snake' Roberts. I learned a lot from him in just a single promo, single promo, I learned how a guy can basically cut your legs if you are strong enough as a character, you can stand to that, if you weren't, he's going to move past you," he said.It remains to be seen what is next for Cody Rhodes.
