John Cena is widely considered the biggest star in the sports entertainment industry of all time. The Cenation Leader is known for his humble and positive nature wherever he goes. However, recently, a former WWE star revealed that he was severely abused by the 17-time World Champion and credited Dustin Rhodes for standing up for him.
David Otunga recently revealed a wild backstage story between him, John Cena, and Dustin Rhodes. Otunga said once during his time in WWE, he asked Rhodes to give him a tip about a move as a heel. David added that Dustin suggested to him to use the "pull the rope" attack for a match with Cena. Otunga added that the AEW star even consulted The Cenation Leader before the match itself. However, the spot failed to land desirably, creating an awkward situation for him and Cena.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, David Otunga revealed that it frustrated The Franchise Player, and he went on to lash out at him following the match. Otunga said that Cena embarrassed him in front of the entire locker room. However, Dustin Rhodes approached him to hear the matter and later even confronted The Cenation Leader. While Otunga did not receive any apology from Cena, he felt respected by Dustin.
"The worst I’ve ever been cussed out or just disrespected to the point where I questioned if I even wanted to work there anymore, where I don’t make a mistake, and I’m disrespected like this, absolutely not. So I really had to think about that. And if I’m being honest, that changed the way that I saw John Cena forever; it actually changed the way I saw the company, too. Nobody did anything about it. I think Goldust said something to him, but there was never an apology.” Otunga said
