The aforementioned star is Chris Jericho, the first-ever Undisputed Champion in WWE. He has been absent from AEW television since April and is heavily rumored to return to the Stamford-based promotion as his AEW contract nears expiry at the end of the year. Furthermore, Jericho has been fueling the rumors himself with hints and references during his hiatus.

Most recently, he reunited with his former partner, Kevin Owens, at a recent Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Dallas Stars game. The duo was a formidable unit in WWE and was part of a highly captivating storyline in 2016. The two then became rivals and competed against each other in a major match for the WWE United States title at WrestleMania 33.

Kevin Owens shared an update on his neck surgery

Kevin Owens is currently sidelined with a neck injury that he announced earlier this year. The Prizefighter revealed that he was stressed heading into his neck fusion surgery. However, he also added that it was successful and Owens expected himself to return to WWE next year.

"I did get a neck fusion. It was very stressful going into it because we're not really sure how severe the fusion was gonna be and how many levels and all that stuff. Thankfully, it ended up being only one level, which was the best-case scenario. Surgery was successful, and my doctor says we have to see how the bones fuse, and there's no guarantee that it's gonna work. It's how my body heals. Some guys were successful. Fingers crossed, I get to come back to wrestling in the next year," Owens said.

With KO remaining positive regarding his in-ring return, it remains to be seen when he will be medically cleared to wrestle again.
