MJF was involved in several major feuds during his time in AEW. One of his most well-known feuds was against Cody Rhodes during the early days of the promotion. This feud also introduced Wardlow as MJF's bodyguard. Mr. Mayhem showed up on an episode of Dynamite and brutally assaulted Cody before choking him out with his Burberry tie.

Today marks six years to the date since Mr. Mayhem made his AEW TV debut. Hence, we at Sportskeeda congratulate the former TNT Champion for serving six years in the Jacksonville-based promotion.

Jim Cornette believes WWE won't want to sign Wardlow

Wardlow has proven to be a physical specimen in the ring. He has turned a lot of heads due to his sheer strength and athletic ability. Sadly, Mr. Mayhem has been quite injury-prone over the past few years, which has halted his push in the Jacksonville-based promotion. He injured himself during his match against Samoa Joe last year. After returning from injury at Forbidden Door 2025, he attacked Swerve Strickland and aligned himself with the Don Callis Family. However, it was later reported that Mr. Mayhem injured himself again during his return and would be sidelined for the foreseeable future.

Speaking on his Drive-Thru podcast, Jim Cornette stated that the ship has sailed on the AEW star moving to NXT since he will be nearly 40 when he returns from injury.

"He's practically forgotten about. He comes back and hurts himself again, and now, by the time he gets back in the ring, he's going to be almost 40, even closer. They're not going to take him now over there in NXT, if he got the itch to go. So, I think the ship has sailed."

It will be interesting to see when Mr. Mayhem will make his return from injury.
