Chris Jericho has been absent from All Elite Wrestling since April this year. In his last appearance, Y2J dropped his ROH World Championship to Bandido at AEW Dynasty. His absence has been fueling rumors that he could be on his way to WWE in the coming months.

WWE veteran Vince Russo recently gave his opinions on the matter with Jericho and AEW. The former WWE writer pointed out that The Learning Tree is in his twilight years in professional wrestling. Therefore, it is implausible that he would be looking to waste his time. Besides, given his recent comments throwing shade on AEW by putting TNA over, it could mean things aren't right between him and Tony Khan's company.

Speaking on The Coach & Bro, Vince Russo said that Chris Jericho might be bitter toward All Elite Wrestling and, as a result, is allegedly burying the company. Russo added that the former WWE Champion could be looking to put himself in the limelight to kick off bidding wars when his AEW contract expires.

"I'm not really surprised because there's either one of two things going on. He's either positioning himself for a bidding war, or he's bitter. It's one of those two things. I would almost have to believe the latter. He has not wrestled since April," said Russo.

Tony Khan says the door is open for Chris Jericho to return to AEW

Chris Jericho has been a key player in AEW's success. Y2J has been with the company since its beginning as a main eventer. Recently, Tony Khan spoke about things around the former WWE star's status with the Jacksonville-based promotion.

In an interview on the Ariel Helwani Show, Khan said Jericho can always return to AEW because he loves having him in the company. Tony Khan confirmed that the former AEW World Champion is still with AEW, and he reached out to the star on his birthday.

"I just reached out, wished him a happy birthday recently. I'm very excited about everything Chris has done in AEW, he continues to be with us. I can't speak to that, but I love Chris in AEW, and the door is always open for him to come in," said Khan.

The AEW President seemed to avoid the question around Jericho's return to the company. However, only time will tell what is in store for Chris Jericho in the world of professional wrestling from here on.
