Chris Jericho recently awarded a popular match a 5-star rating because of one major reason. The interesting part about this was that it was a match from outside AEW.
The final match between the Hardy Boyz and the Dudley Boys on TNA Bound to Glory was highly talked-about as this was between two legendary tag teams, who many consider to be two of the greatest of all time. This was far from their best bouts, as they were in the twilight stages of their careers, but they were able to cap this off feud with an emotional bout.
While on a recent edition of the Talk is Jericho podcast, Chris Jericho spoke with all four veterans, and he made a bold claim about the match. He agreed with Bully Ray rating their match as 5 stars due to the emotional factor. Jericho had the same belief about how this aspect was the most important part of wrestling. He also awarded them 5 stars for their performance.
"You [Bully] said it was a five-star match, and it was, you know, it was a five-star match, and any wrestling fan that doesn't understand why it's a five-star match doesn't really know a lot about wrestling because once again, we've been stressing this the whole time — it's all about the emotion. That's what wrestling has always been, and it always will be. Yeah. Absolutely. Five stars. No doubt about it. No doubt about it at all," asserted Jericho. [H/T WrestlingInc.]

Chris Jericho seemingly fired a shot at AEW
During the same podcast, Chris Jericho had an interesting take about the TNA crowd. He believed that they had reached WWE-levels, seeing how packed the arena was.
He made a bold declaration as he compared this to AEW Dynamite's recent run at the ECW Arena. The Nueve claimed that TNA looked like the second biggest company in the world at that moment.
“That crowd looked huge," he said. "It looked huge. It was like a WWE-level crowd. The place was packed. I was watching this and, not saying anything out of school here, but comparing it to watching Dynamite when they were at the ECW Arena, which looked like a Tony Condello taping –sorry, it did – TNA looked like the second biggest company in the world, and that was amazing. And the presentation was amazing.” [H/T WrestlePurists on X]
This comes at an interesting time as Chris Jericho's AEW contract is set to expire by the end of 2025. It is unclear whether these comments are any indication that he will be leaving.
