AEW is home to a lot of young talents and experienced veterans. It is also a platform for stars from other promotions to showcase their skills. A major star from New Japan Pro-Wrestling recently suffered a serious injury at an All Elite Wrestling event. The wrestler is none other than Tomohiro Ishii.
Ishii is one of the most respected Japanese wrestlers in the world today. He is a six-time NEVER Openweight Champion and a former IWGP Tag Team Champion. He is currently in his first reign as the Strong Openweight Champion. Despite being an NJPW wrestler, he makes sporadic appearances for the Tony Khan-led promotion.
Unfortunately, the Japanese star suffered a major injury at a recent event. New Japan Pro-Wrestling shared the news on its official website, stating that Ishii dislocated his right shoulder at an AEW live event on October 22nd in San Antonio, Texas. The company confirmed that he won't be competing at any forthcoming events, and there was no specific date for his return.
The Japanese wrestling promotion also apologized to fans who were expecting to see him compete at future events. Sportskeeda Wrestling wishes Tomohiro Ishii a speedy recovery from the shoulder injury.
