Ishii is one of the most respected Japanese wrestlers in the world today. He is a six-time NEVER Openweight Champion and a former IWGP Tag Team Champion. He is currently in his first reign as the Strong Openweight Champion. Despite being an NJPW wrestler, he makes sporadic appearances for the Tony Khan-led promotion.

Unfortunately, the Japanese star suffered a major injury at a recent event. New Japan Pro-Wrestling shared the news on its official website, stating that Ishii dislocated his right shoulder at an AEW live event on October 22nd in San Antonio, Texas. The company confirmed that he won't be competing at any forthcoming events, and there was no specific date for his return.

Throughout the match, The Death Riders tried to interfere. During the intense bout, Ishii had the upper hand for the most part. However, PAC secured the win after surviving a hard-hitting battle. This was the high-flying star's third match since he returned from injury a few months ago.

It will be interesting to see if both Ishii and PAC have a rematch after the Japanese wrestling veteran gets cleared to compete again.
